Commitment to Health and Safety
At Moore Cleaning Services, Health & Safety is at the core of all aspects of our work.
The main ways we show are commitment to health and safety, on an operational day to day basis, are:
- Communication and Training
Our Health and Safety policy and rules specific to a site or job are part of induction and refresher training for all employees and sub-contractors. Employees are given training in relation to work with hazardous substances, use of equipment, use of PPE and manual handling. Refresher training is carried out annually and also on a monthly basis in the form of mini Tool Box Talks. - Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
The Health and Safety Manager carries out and records formal risk assessments. Employees are also trained to carry out dynamic risk assessments, continuously through their work day. As they work, they consider risks and establish work methods to minimise the risk of injury to themselves and others. Formal method statements are prepared in writing where the risk is particularly high. - Co-operation with Client Site Requirements
All employees are inducted in client procedures when first attending site, in particular general site access, emergencies and high risk work activities including permit to work systems. Employees remain vigilant to the risk of fire and what to do if there is a fire alarm activated. - Accident reporting
All accidents are reported to the office and recorded. All accidents/incidents will be investigated by senior management and any action taken as a result of investigation will be formally recorded. - Equipment is subject to routine maintenance and PAT testing
Company wide Health and Safety Awareness Week
In addition to the formal Health and Safety Training, each year we run our Annual Health and Safety Awareness Week. This event brings a week long focus to health and safety in an enjoyable way. It is a fun and informative event with competitions, quizzes and prizes for staff to raise awareness of the particular aspects of Health and Safety in general and how it applies to our client sites. The week of events includes various workshops on aspects of Health and Safety, as well as a newsletter, which acts as a reminder of all the other key areas including Slips, Trips and Falls, Chemical dilution ratios, Safe use of equipment etc
